Hope AAP stops BJP, Modi: Aiyar

New Delhi, Jan 7 : Senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar on Tuesday created a political controversy by saying that he hopes Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will stop the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi from coming to power.

"I hope and pray that the AAP stops the BJP and Modi. The Hitler (Modi) must be stopped from coming to power," said Aiyar.

"The Congress would welcome any assistance from the AAP in this regard," he said.

Meanwhile, the BJP slammed Aiyar for his remarks.

"Look at the Congress mindset! They know that their game is over and they cannot win the Lok Sabha elections. Hence they are now seeking help from parties like AAP," said BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar.
