Nagaland: 9 decomposed bodies recovered

By Hemanta Kumar Nath, Guwahati, Jan 4 : : The Nagaland Police on Saturday said they have recovered highly decomposed bodies of nine unidentified persons near Dimapur city along the Assam-Nagaland border on Friday.

According to reports, the police discovered the decomposed bodies which were blindfolded and tied up at Chumukedima area near Dimapur.

Dimapur is one of main business cities of Nagaland.

Dimapur SP V Z Angami said that the persons were shot from close range on their heads.

"The entry and exit point were visible in the bodies which were lying atop each other," Angami said.

"Unidentified gunmen had killed the persons before two weeks ago," the top police official said.

The police have registered a case and continued their investigation to find the identity of the deceased persons.
