4 SIMI activists arrested in Ujjain

Ujjain, Jan 1 : The Madhya Pradesh Police has arrested four activists of banned organisation Student Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) in Ujjain with huge amount of explosives, reports said on Wednesday.

The explosives recovered from the four activists include 12 bombs, a pipe bomb, 900 gelatine sticks and more than 600 detonators.

The police has started interrogation of the four suspects.

This comes days after the police had arrested SIMI activist Abu Fazal who had escaped from a jail in Khandwa.

Besides Fazal, two other persons, who are believed to have sheltered him and are allegedly involved in several acts of terror, were also taken into custody from Sendhva in Badwani district.
