Will fight against terrorists: Vladimir Putin

Khabarovsk, Dec 31 : Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday said the country will fight against terrorists until they are eliminated'.


"Dear friends, we bow our heads before the victims of cruel terrorist attacks. We will continue fighting terrorists in a confident, tough and relentless manner until they are completely eliminated," Putin was quoted as saying by Ria Novosti in his New Year's celebratory address to residents of Khabarovsk city.

Putin made the remarks at a time when suicide bombings for two consecutive days in the southern city of Volgograd killed at least 34 people.

On Sunday, about 17 people were killed and many injured in a deadly suicide attack by a female bomber in a Russian train station in Volgograd.

The female suicide bomber blew herself up at the entrance hall of the station, said officials.

Several others were killed in the second deadly bomb attack in less than 24 hours in the southern city of Volgograd on Monday.
