The teacher had lodged a complaint against Verma in March.
The police, after investigation, recorded Verma's statement on Sunday evening. He was arrested thereafter.
"There has been no explanation so far by the police on the delay in the arrest as the complaint had been lodged in March. The police had earlier called the case a dispute over a property and had blamed the woman for blackmailing him," reported CNN-IBN.
