Day 1: India 181 for 1

Durban, Dec 26 : India scored 181 for one as bad light stopped play on the first day of the second Test against South Africa at Kingsmead here on Thursday.

Bad light stopped the play shortly after the tea break.

Indian opener Murali Vijay (91*) and Cheteshwar Pujara (58*) were at the crease when the umpires decided to stop the play.

India earlier elected to bat after winning the toss.

South Africa have only picked up the wicket of opener Shikhar Dhawan (29). Pacer Morne Morkel picked up his wicket.

Other South African bowlers failed to disturb the Indian batsmen on Thursday.

Vijay, who has hit 17 boundaries so far, is nine runs short of his hundred.

The first Test of the two-match of the series was drawn.
