Pakistani militant killed in J&K encounter

Srinagar, Dec 26 : A Pakistani militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, reports said on Thursday.

A joint team of 53 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operation Group (SOG) Chadoora reportedly killed one foreign militant in an ongoing gun-battle which started Wednesday evening at Hushroo village of Chadoora area in Budgam.

Police sources confirmed one militant has been killed and operation is still going on.

Sources also said the militant hailed from Pakistan and was involved in the killing of Station House Officer (SHO) of Chadoora, Sub-Inspector Shabir Ahmad, on Dec 2.

Meanwhile, there was exchange of fire between forces and militants in Tral area of South Kashmir at 4 am on Thursday,

Sources said, "The militants, however, managed to escape from the spot."
