People binge-watching are not ashamed of it

Islamabad, Dec 15 : A survey has found that many people, who watch television online on a regular basis, unabashedly indulge in binge-watching.

For the survey, which was sponsored by Netflix, Market research firm Harris Interactive asked 1500 adults, who watch TV online at least once a week, about their viewing habits, the Daily Times reported.

The results of the survey confirmed a trend where majority of people watch multiple episodes of a given show in one sitting.

61 percent said that they regularly indulged in binge viewing, where 3 in 4 respondents claimed to be watching two to six episodes at a time.

While 51 percent said they prefer binge viewing with other people, 73 percent said they had positive feelings about it.

Meanwhile, Grant McCracken, cultural anthropologist, said that binge watching has really taken off due to a perfect storm of better TV, current economic climate and the digital explosion of the last few years.
