4 killed in Nairobi grenade attack

Nairobi, Dec 14 : At least four people were killed in a grenade attack in Kenya's Nairobi city on Saturday, officials said.

"4 people have been confirmed dead from the grenade attack in Eastleigh area this evening. Our condolences to the families," the country's interior ministry tweeted.

The ministry said such acts will not be tolerated.

"The attack is an unfortunate and cowardice incident which will not be tolerated, @PoliceKE are at the scene & @NDOCKenya has also responded," said the ministry.

The ministry earlier said one of the attacker was blown off in the explosion.

"One of the assailants was blown off in the explosion, several people have been injured, 2 pple have been taken to KNH for treatment," it said.

The Kenya Red Cross said 15 people, who were inured in the attack, were taken to hospital.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
