The probe into alleged over Rs 10,000 crore scam in Supplementary Nutrition Programme (SNP) in Uttar Pradesh is likely to go into hands of the sleuths of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to break a strong syndicate of private players who had siphoned off huge money meant to save poor persons who die every day due to preventable causes or malnutrition.
The matter will be taken up by the Supreme Court later this month while a local Samajwadi Party MLA, Sharda Pratap Shukla already raised his voice against above one of biggest scam in the country.
The SP MLA had met chief minister Akhilesh Pratap Singh and has demanded a CBI probe to investigate that how previous chief minister Mayawati had kept all the laid norms including directions of Supreme Court orders to provide contract for supply of food in the SNP in the ICDS.
Surprisingly the government alleged to have mend norms just to facilitate the above syndicate to operate freely in the last about a decade.
Interestingly CBI is already probing over Rs 5000 crore scam in National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) in which also a number of ministers and powerful persons of the State siphoned of Central Fund send to look after health of poor persons. One of the former family welfare minister was already in jail while than principal secretary of the same department was now out on bail.
