India deplores serial blasts in Bahrain
India on Monday deplored the series of blasts that took place in Bahrain capital Manama killing an Indian among others.
Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin in a statement said, "We have seen reports of a series of bomb blasts in Bahrain this morning. We have also been informed that one Indian has been killed and another injured in the blasts."
According to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), on Monday morning five bombs exploded in the Qudaibiya and Adliya districts of Manama killing two street cleaners and injuring one.
Unconfirmed reports said the other victim is a Bangladeshi.
"We strongly condemn the violence. We conveyed our serious concern to the authorities in Bahrain," the MEA said.
"We hope, and are confident, that the authorities in Bahrain will ensure security to our citizens living and working in Bahrain."
Bahrain's Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has condemned the blasts.
