The Gas Authority of India Limited(GAIL) and the Rajasthan State Petroleum Corporation Limited(RSPCL) will jointly undertake the distribution/supply of natural gas in the state.
A joint venture is being floated for the purpose by the GAIL and (RSPCL). A formal agreement for the new venture was signed here today between the two public sector undertakings.
GAIL Chief Executive Officer J Vasan and RSPCL Managing Director Ajitabh Sharma signed the agreement in the presence of state Chief Secretary CK Mathew.
Keeping in view prospects of exploration/development of natural gas finds/reserves in the state, the proposed joint venture would work on a long term plan in that includes laying gas pipe line, transporation, distribution and supply of the gas and production of natural gas from sources like lignite with the application of alternative technology.
