Six Congress spokespersons in race for ticket

Six spokespersons of Gujarat Congress have joined the race to get a ticket for the coming assembly elections in the state to be held on December 13 and 17.

The Gujarat Congress has 10 spokespersons, out of which at least six have thrown their hats in the electoral ring.

They have trained their eyes on various constituencies.

The youngest among the lot, Dr Manish Doshi, who emerged from university politics to reach the level of the spokesperson, is said to be a contender for the ticket for Ellisbridge constituency in Ahmedabad district.

Jayantilal Parmar, the oldest in the lot, is considered a strong contender for Danilimda reserved seat. Mr Parmar, a dalit leader has contested elections for Ahmedabad civic body in the past.

Gaurav Pandya, another spokesperson, is seeking to enter state assembly via Valsad constituency. Jairajsinh Parmar and Prof Kishorsinh Solanki are staking their claims over Kheralu and Mahudha constituencies respectively.

Himanshu Vyas, another spokesperson, wants himself to be considered by the party high command for Vadhvan constituency.
