Punjab to keep budgetary provisions for mega medical camps
After realising the overwhelming response to the mega medical camps, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said the SAD-BJP government would keep budgetary provisions from the next fiscal year for holding more such camps.
Talking to the media persons on the concluding day of two-day mega medical camp here today, Mr Badal said that in wake of the whopping expenditure incurred on holding such camps it was necessary to make such provisions to ably conduct this philanthropic cause.
He said that from the coming financial year the state government would ensure that separate funds are kept in the budget for organising these camps in an efficient manner.
Mr Badal said that such camps were instrumental in providing quality health services to the people at their doorsteps on one hand and to trace the thrust area of fatal diseases prevalent in various parts of the state on the other.
He reiterated that proper record of the patients registered in these camps was being maintained adding that the patients, which had been referred for advanced treatment after the diagnose in such camps, would be provided the requisite financial help by the state government.
Mr Badal said that the state government was committed to upgrade the health infrastructure in the state for which recruitment process of the specialist doctors was already in the pipeline.
