Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today paid homage to departed senior BJP leader and stalwart Kailashpati Mishra at his residence here today.
Mr Modi arrived here and straightway drove to the residence of the former Gujarat and Rajsthan Governor from Jay Prakash Narayan international airport and offered floral tribute to the leader, who breathed his last yesterday.
Mr Modi met the family members and the relatives of Kailashpati Mishra and prayed to the God to give them courage to bear the loss.
Condoling the death of the leader, Mr Modi told newspersons here that Mr Mishra was one of the prominent leaders of Jan Sangh and his role was like a milestone in the development of the BJP.
"His role in the field of politics is inspiring, his life and his conduct in public is worth following," he added.
He said remaining on the post of Governor of Gujarat, Mishra became a role model in maintaining the dignity of constitutional body.
The departed had also set an example by discharging his responsibilities effectively in maintaining coordination between the state and the Centre as a governor, Mr Modi added.
