Uddahv Thackeray undergoes second angioplasty surgery
Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray was admitted to Lilavati hospital in suburban Bandra for second angioplasty surgery procedure today.
Mr Thackeray is expected to be discharged within two days after thorough check-ups, party sources said.
This was second phase of the procedure as the 51-year-old leader had undergone the first angioplasty operation at the same hospital in July and it was a success.
Doctors had discovered multi-vessel blockages in his heart and suggested that he undergo two operations.
"Today's second angioplasty had been advised when he was admitted for the first surgery," the sources said.
The Shiv Sena leader arrived at the hospital early this morning with his wife Rashmi and children Aditya and Tejas. His estranged cousin and MNS chief Raj Thackeray was also present.
Bollywood icon and singer Lata Mangeshkar visited his father and party supremo Bal Thackeray at his residence 'Matoshri' in Bandra today.
Bal Thackeray has not been keeping well for the past few months.
