A team of over 24 BJP workers from Bihar unit of the party today left for Gujarat to campaign for state Assembly election there.
State BJP president Dr C P Thakur said here on an invitation extended by Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, a team of 24 party workers left for the western state to assist in Assembly elections there.
More party workers and leaders would also go there as per the demand and requirement in future, he added.
When contacted, state Animal Husbandry Department Minister Giriraj Singh and Health Minister Ashwini Kumar Chaubey said they would also go to Gujarat for campaigning there.
'I had earlier gone to Surat early this year in connection with Bihar centenary celebration which was also attended by Narendra Modi,' Mr Chaubey said adding that function had received tremendous support from the people of Bihar.
Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi said local leaders were more effective in assembly polls while national leaders also had important role to play.
There was still sufficient time left for Gujarat assembly elections and he would plan the visit, after getting invitation depending on engagement in home state, he further added.
