46 participated in B S Kahlon Golf Tournament

As many as 46 golfers from various golf clubs from all over the state participated in the 4th Col B S Kahlon Memorial Invitational Golf Tournament held at Ranjitgarh Golf Club, Punjab Police Academy, here today.

The tournament was played on stroke-play basis. The best 3 score cards from the four ball representing a golf club were chosen as the winner of running championship trophy for this memorial golf tournament.

The best team was from RCF Golf Club, Kapurthala represented by Darshan Singh, Ashbeer Saini, Jagmohan Singh and Sukhjeet Singh with a gross score of 228 and the runner up team was from SEPTA Golf club, Chandimandir represented by Col P J S Atwal, Col G C Sharma, Col N S Bains, Brig Pradeep Sharma with a gross score of 242 which trailed the winning team by a margin of 14 strokes.

In the individual category Vishal Adya of PPA Phillaur with a score of 74 was the winner followed by Mr D S Garcha of PAP Golf Club Jalandhar with a score of 79. The prize for straightest drive on the 3rd fairway was won by Col R S Behl. His ball was 5-8' far from the center line. Rupinder Singh from PPA Phillaur won the Nearest to Pin. He dropped the ball 6-3' away from the hole.

In the women putting Rani Ghuman was the winner and Seema Kahlon was the runner up.

Col B S Kahlon, in whose memory tournament is held, was the General Secretary of Punjab Golf Association from its very inception. ADGP and Punjab Golf Association President S K Sharma was the chief guest counted on the various achievements of the Association and also duly appreciated contribution of Late Col B S Kahlon. Mr Yashvir Mahajan, Deputy Commissioner of Fatehgarh Sahib and treasurer of the Association presided over the prize giving ceremony.
