Governor lauds IAF's role in Arunachal flood relief
Arunachal Pradesh Governor Gen (Retd) J J Singh today commended the Indian Air Force (IAF) for their excellent job in relief and rescue operations during the recent flood in the state.
He also lauded the force for the role they played in airdropping essential food items in the remote parts of the frontier state and reaching out to the people at their time of need.
The Governor conveyed gratitude and good wishes to the IAF personnel on behalf of the people of the state, during his two-day visit to Eastern Air Command (EAC) headquarters, Shillong, from October 3.
During his visit, the Governor addressed the officers of Eastern Air Command at EAC Headquarters and delivered a lecture on the topic, 'Security concerns and modern India leadership'.
Earlier on his arrival EAC headquarters, the Governor and state First lady Anupama Singh were received by Air Marshal S Varthiman, Air Officer Commanding in Chief, Eastern Air Command and his wife Dr Shoba Varthiman and senior officers of EAC.
