About 1.81 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has sofar arrived in various mandis of Haryana during the current Kharif season.
Stating this here today, a Haryana Food and Supplies department spokesman said that out of the total arrival of paddy, the maximum quantity of paddy had arrived in district Kurukshetra which is 83,999 metric tonnes.
Similarly, district Kaithal received 30,786 metric tonnes of paddy, district Karnal 30,525 metric tonnes, Ambala 21,121 metric tonnes, Yamunanagar 6660 metric tonnes, Panchkula 6407 metric tonnes, Panipat 1179 metric tonnes, Fatehabad 580 metric tonnes, Sirsa 140 metric tonnes and Sonepat 59 metric tonnes, he added.
He said that out of the total arrival of paddy, six government agencies had so far procured 1.71 lakh metric tonnes of paddy whereas the remaining quantity of 9556 metric tonnes was procured by the millers.
He said that out of the paddy procured by agencies, 69,694 metric tonnes had been procured by Food and Supplies Department whereas HAFED had purchased 52,715 metric tonnes, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 29,176 metric tonnes, Haryana Warehousing Corporation 10,466 metric tonnes, and CONFED procured 9847 metric tonnes of paddy.
