Speciality Restaurants forays into catering
Kolkata, Mar 20 : Speciality Restaurants Limited Managing Director Anjan Chatterjee on Tuesday announced the opening of an outdoor catering service Mobifeast here.
Chatterjee said, "Bengali cuisine has its all ingredients to woo the global customers by tickling up their taste buds. So the conception of Mobifeast came up. Our clients like various corporates in India and abroad would be very satisfied with the catering service."
Chatterjee also informed that Specialty Restaurants brands of Mainland China, Oh! Calcutta has been opened in Dhaka, Singapore and London.
Mezzuna - the breakfast-to-dinner casual restaurant serving Mediterranean cuisine, following its success in Pune will be launched in Kolkata within the next couple of months, he noted.
"Mezzuna will cater to the young nocturnal people. It will sport the bar and kitchen that are trends of go-young Indians. If they come here to have breakfast, by spending near about 200-300 rupees they can get a wholesome breakfast," he told media.
Chatterjee added, "To enter a global region like Persian Gulf was not easy, unless you have a good compatible partner to have joint venture. Already we have 7-8 restaurants are there. Rest we are planning to set up very soon and is under ongoing process."
As an upcoming project, Speciality Restaurants Limited is gearing up to rebrand Flames & Grill as Global Grill to cater to global cuisine.
Chatterjee asserted, "Mobifeast will mean everybody celebrates; so a normal bouquet of meal would be priced at Rs 800 uncompromising with quality, whereas for a very luxurious and lavish meal, foodies have to pay Rs. 1800-2000, if they opt to have Giant Prawn or Hilsa."
Mobifeast which has its central food processing unit at Sankrail is expected to add up around Rs 100 crores business in the next fiscal year and by 2014-15 it will be aiming at Rs 250 as turnover, said Chatterjee.
"The Sankrail Mobifeast unit would be headed by Chef Rajesh Dubey who has a 19 years of experience working at Taj Group of Hotels and 29 best Chefs from across the country would be assisting him," he said.
The Speciality Group has 96 restaurants and confectionaries across 26 cities and now plans to become the largest food operator in Asia with foraying into the outdoor catering service Mobifeast and an entry to the Quality Service Restaurant (QSR) technology.
