Drama in RS after Cong member clicks pic of Jaya Bachchan
New Delhi, Mar 20 : Rajya Sabha today witnessed high drama as a Congress member clicked the pictures of film actor Jaya Bachchan, who is also a Samajwadi Party (SP) member, without her permission inviting strong protests by her.
The incident, a day after Lok Sabha passed the Criminal Law (Amendment) Bill, happened immediately after the House was adjourned at 1400 hrs on the issues of Steel Minister Beni Prasad Verma's remarks against SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and AIADMK, DMK protests on the Sri Lankan Tamils issues.
As the members were getting up from their seats to leave the House after Vice Chairperson Renuka Choudhary had adjourned it, Ms Bachchan spotted the Congress member from Jharkhand clicking her pictures with his mobile phone.
She strongly protested and complained to Ms Choudhari and Ms Ambika Soni (both Congress).
Ms Bachchan was joined by Ms Smriti Irani of the BJP who is also a television star.
''This is harassment...,'' Ms Bachchan shouted.
The Congress member tried to erase the pictures from his mobile but could not and was assisted by another member of his Party.
''Look he is now trying to erase the pictures,'' she said.
Ms Soni and Ms Choudhary asked the Congress member to apologise to Ms Bachchan. He went upto Ms Bachchan and apologised.
However, Ms Bachchan was not convinced and clearly showed her displeasure.
The drama continued for about ten minutes before all the members left.
