Vadra land deal: Raj Assy adjourned for day

Jaipur, Mar 20 : Amid din over purchase of land by companies of Congress president Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra, the Rajasthan Assembly was today adjourned abruptly for the day after briefly discharging the day's business.

The issue rocked the Assembly for the second day, disrupting the proceedings in Zero Hour and passage of budgetary demands for the Urban Planning, State Development, Rural Development and Rural Employment, totally around Rs 4000 crore.

The demand was approved/adopted without debate or discussion.

The issue that figured through short notices in Zero Hour attained such a dimensions that it disrupted the normal proceedings and brought the House in pandemonium for about 45 minutes and during this course mobbing in the well, the opposition members staged a walk out.

Several BJP members like Kiran Maheshwari, Vasdev Devnani and Om Birla put their slips for the draw to speak on this issue.

However, They were not allowed by Speaker Deependra Singh Shkhawat and his deputy Ream Narain Meena on grounds that the issue had already been discussed.

Then Kailash Bhansali(BJP) was allowed to make his statement on the condition that he would not raise any point that had already been figured and would also ensure not to mention name of any outsiders.

Mr Bhansali,however, mentioned Mr Vadra's name though it was expunged from proceedings, it triggered the trouble evoking strong reaction/protest from the Congress members.
