Speeding truck kills seven children in Aligarh
Aligarh, Mar 20 : A speeding truck carrying bricks crushed seven children to death and injuring several others in Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh in the wee hours of Tuesday.
According to eyewitnesses, the truck was giving way to another vehicle coming from the opposite direction when it lost control and overturned, crushing impoverished children sleeping near the road.
Mohammed Sameer, an eyewitness, said, "Young children lost their lives and a few adults were also injured. One woman and two men who were injured have been rescued. Children have been taken to nearby hospitals. Locals are also removing debris from the accident site."
Locals were seen clearing the rubble in a bid to rescue the children trampled under the bricks that fell off the truck.
Eyewitnesses also said that few adults were also injured in the accident and they were ferried to nearby hospitals.
