Gurgaon engineering student poisoned
Gurgaon, Mar 20 : A first year engineering student of a Guragaon college has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital here after he was ragged and then poisoned, said reports on Wednesday. On Tuesday afternoon, the alleged victim was reportedly spotted in an unconscious state by his friends in a park outside the college. According to his family and friends injury marks were found on his body, which have caused them to suspect that he was beaten up before being poisoned. The student's father also told police that the college didn't inform him about his son's condition. Therefore, a case of negligence has been reportedly registered against the college authories based on his statement.
The student was taken to hospital by college staff, where he has been kept on ventilator support, reports said.
"The patient is in critical condition. He will be on observation for 48 hours. He could have been poisoned,"an official at the hospital was quoted as saying.
Being a resident of Delhi, he travels to Gurgaon daily to attend his classes, but often complained his friends of being harassed by seniors.
According to his friends, they have also given the names of some suspects to college authorities, but no action was taken.
