Indian-origin doc films sexual abuse
London, Mar 16 : An Indian-origin doctor, who used a secret camera inside his James Bond-style wristwatch to record himself sexually abusing his female patients, is facing jail term in UK, media reports said on Saturday.
45-year-old Dr Davinderjit Bains sexually abused above two dozen women by using his position as a general practitioner (GP). He used his Tieex 4GB Waterproof HD Spy Watch DVR to film himself abusing female patients, reports said.
"It (watch) has a built-in camera on the face - with simple on and off buttons to record - and can be bought on the internet for less than GBP60," The Sun reported.
The doctor worked at a medical practice in Royal Wootton Bassett town.
"Swindon Crown Court heard today that Bains has admitted almost than 40 charges including assault by penetration, sexual assault and voyeurism. Today he admitted a further two charges of voyeurism, two of sexual activity with a child and a single charge of assault by penetration," The Sun reported on Friday.
"In total, Bains, from Swindon, has pleaded guilty to 39 sex charges and was today remanded in custody to await sentencing," the tabloid said.
The police started investigating the matter in June last year after a 19-year-old woman complained that she was sexually abused by Bains.
The police later arrested the doctor and found the wristwatch.
The police recovered around 361 high-quality video clips from the wristwatch and his computer.
Detective Inspector Mark Garrett told The Sun: "They put their trust in their doctor and Dr Bains breached that trust massively - compromising his professional position - and breached that trust to the highest order. He is a sexual predator, simple as that. And he was allowed to abuse his position of trust and offend for two years."
