Egyptian President Morsi arriving on March 18 on 3-day visit
New Delhi, Mar 14: Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi is arriving on a three-day state visit to India on March 18, a visit that is happening at a very important jucture of the relations between the two countries, and of the regional situation.
Through this visit, the new Egyptian leadership would be trying to have a feel of India's pluralism and also exploring
opportunities to learn from its knowledge and expertise, as Joint Secretary in the Ministery of External Affairs Rajiv Sahare put it.
He sought to remind that the countries had centuries-old ties and in the recent past they shared the experience of colonial rule, and were founder leaders of the Non-Aligned Movement.
Mr Sahare said India was quick to establish contact with the new dispensation in 2011 and in this visit it was looking forward to engagements at various levels in the areas of science and technoloy and IT.
