Hacker adds Romney, Tiger Woods to list of bigshots stripped off financial details
New York, Mar. 14 : A hacker website which posted financial details and sensitive material of over a dozen bigshots belonging to the entertainment industry and politics, has now added Mitt Romney, Tiger Woods, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, and entertainer R. Kelly to its list.
The earlier victims of the website, 'Exposed.su', include Michelle Obama, Jay-Z and Beyonce, Hillary Clinton, Hulk Hogan, Police Chief Charlie Beck, Attorney General Eric Holder, Kim Kardashian, Britney Spears, Donald Trump, Paris Hilton, Mel Gibson, Ashton Kutcher, Vice President Biden and FBI Director Robert Mueller, reports New York Daily Times.
President Barack Obama has called the issue "a big problem".
The three major credit bureaus whose documents appear on the website say the cyber attacks did not breach the firewalls of their secure databases. Instead, the reports purportedly were obtained by one or more hackers posing as the targets online.
Representatives for Experian, Equifax and TransUnion said they're cooperating with authorities investigating the damaging leaks.
Sources said the FBI, Secret Service and Los Angeles Police Department are investigating the site.
The hacking site's Internet address ends with a suffix originally assigned to the former Soviet Union.
A counter on the website indicated it has received more than 540,000 views since its existence was revealed on Monday.
Los Angeles police sources said they are trying to determine how and why the personal information of Police Chief Charlie Beck was obtained and posted on the site.
Beck has vowed to vigorously pursue the culprits who victimized him and a number of other people.
