Nagaland Congress felicitates Odisha Governor SC Jamir
Kohima, Mar 12 : The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) today felicitated veteran Congress leader and former chief minister S C Jamir, who has been appointed as the Governor of Odisha.
NPCC president S I Jamir and other party colleagues felicitated Dr Jamir for his new appointment. The Nagaland Pradesh Mahila Congress, Nagaland Youth Congress, National Students Union of India, Congress Seva Dal and the Congress Minority Cell also joined in.
NPMC chief N Lucy congratulated Dr Jamir for making Nagaland proud by performing his assignment of Governor of three states, including Goa and Maharashtra.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Jamir remarked that the Congress is not only a political party, but a people's movement. He said, whether Congress is in the ruling or opposition, it should be the sacred duty of Congressmen and women to be a servant of the people under all circumstances.
Expressing dismay over the debacle of his party in the recent State Assembly election, Dr Jamir said it is no time to find fault, but to seriously introspect and deliberate for the future.
Expressing concern over Naga political issue Dr Jamir said so long as the Nagas nurse opportunism, stability in any field cannot be assured.
