Mehbooba Mufti condemns terror attack in Srinagar
Srinagar, Mar 13 : People's Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday condemned the terror attack in Srinagar's Bemina area, saying that violence would not solve anything.
"We condemn this terror attack in Srinagar in the strongest terms. Unfortunate that five CRPF jawans were killed," Mufti said.
"Violence is not going to solve anything. We condemn this attack," she added.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in a brief statement told the State Assembly that two gunmen were killed and five CRPF personnel were killed in the militant attack.
"Today, five CRPF jawans were killed and four to five were injured in the fidayeen attack at a CRPF camp in Srinagar at 10:45 a.m.," he said
Three civilians were injured in the attack and have been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment but weren't critically injured, he added.
Militants today stormed a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Bemina area of Srinagar, killing five jawans and injuring seven others. The two militants, who carried out the attack, were also killed.
According to reports, the militants attacked the camp near a school in the Bemina area and started firing at the police personnel.
The CRPF camp at Bemina is surrounded by the Police Public School and many government buildings.
