Singapore Airlines to shift Kolkata operations to T-2

Kolkata, Mar 12 : Singapore Airlines and SilkAir will shift its operations at Kolkata Airport from the existing terminal to the new Terminal 2 with effect from Mar 14.

Recently inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee, the state-of-the-art, integrated Terminal 2 at the Netaji Shubhash Chandra Bose International Airport is designed to handle 20 million passengers annually.

Slated to be the gateway to the East, this INR 2,300-crore project has been developed by the joint venture of ITD Cementation India Ltd and its parent company Italian-Thai Development Public Co. Ltd, Thailand (ITD).

The modern facility has 48 international and 80 domestic check-in counters, 38 immigration counters, 23 international and 33 domestic security gates and 18 aerobridges.

Singapore Airlines and SilkAir Customers departing from Kolkata should enter the departure level via Gate 4/5 for check-in at rows G and H.

Singapore Airlines and SilkAir jointly operate a daily service on the Kolkata-Singapore route, with 3 and 4 weekly services respectively.
