RPF jawans beats man to death

Behrampore, West Bengal, Mar 12 : A 45-year-old man lost his life after he was allegedly beaten up by a jawan of the Railway Police Force (RPF) at the Behrampore railway station of West Bengal on Tuesday morning.

The jawan named Paritosh Ghosh has been arrested.

The victim Dilip Ghosh and his wife Roma Ghosh from Bongaon in North 24 Parganas district, had reportedly stayed overnight at the station's waiting room to board a morning train to Tarapith, a small temple town in Birbhum district.

The RPF jawan reportedly began to question this waiting couples saying they were not married to each other on Tuesday morning.

Despite the couple showing the jawan their identity papers, he continued to harass them which in turn resulted into a scuffle, said reports.

The jawan, who was younger to the victim had hit him on chest to which Ghosh collapsed, said other passengers in the waiting room.

He was rushed to hospital, but died on the way.
