BJP to raise Ram Singh's suicide in parliament
New Delhi, March 11 : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Monday said it will raise in parliament the suicide in Tihar jail Monday of Ram Singh, main accused in the Dec 16 gang-rape of a 23-year-old.
"We want to know the circumstances behind the suicide of Ram Singh. It is highly irresponsible on the part of Tihar authorities that an inmate and prime accused in a high-profile case commits suicide," said BJP leader Najma Heptullah.
Saying that the BJP would raise the matter in parliament, Heptullah said: "We want to know how it will impact the trial and why he (Ram Singh) was not under electronic surveillance."
