Assam pairs SBI for salary packages
Dispur, Mar 6 : An MoU was signed by the Principal Secretary, Finance Department Himangshu Sekhar Das on behalf of the Government of Assam and the Chief General Manager of NE Circle Rajnish Kumar on behalf of the State Bank of India for payment of salaries to State Government Officers and employees.
The MoU was signed in a meeting held under the Chairmanship of the Chief Secretary of Assam Naba Kumar Das at his Office Conference Hall in the Assam Secretariat, Dispur on Tuesday.
It may be noted that as a result of the MoU, the payment of salaries to State Government employees would be simplified and streamlined; at the same time several benefits and concessions would be provided by SBI to the officers and employees covered under State Government Salary Package (SGSP).
Amongst other benefits under SGSP include instant overdraft of 2 (two) months net salary, concession on interest, processing charge, margin etc. on personal segment loans, free accident insurance up to Rs. 10 lakhs.
On this occasion Commissioner and Secretary of the State's Finance Department Paban Barthakur, SBI General Manager (NW-I) Mahendra Aditya Sahu along with other higher officials of the Government of Assam and Deputy General Managers of the State Bank of India were present.
