Panaji, Mar 6 : In yet another scandal exposing security flaws in the state prisons, one of the prisoners was recorded in a spy cam boasting of the easy availability of drugs inside Sada jail in Vasco, South Goa. The Prisons authorities have launched a search operation inside the premise which has lodged undertrials who have cases like drug trafficking, murder and other serious offenses being tried against them in different designated courts. The expose was made through a local news channel wherein the prisoner is seen bragging about narcotics like cocaine, charas and ganga being sold to the inmates. A luxury living of the prisoners has also been shown in the sting video. It has been disclosed that prison officials had full knowledge about the illegal happening. Superintendent of Sub Jail Gaurish Shankwalkar said a search operation has begun without commenting further on the case. Sada jail was in the news for another shameful act a year before when three dreaded criminals has escaped by digging a hole from the wall to the ground. Some three months back, Goa's serial killer Mahanand Naik, serving life sentence in the state's oldest prison Central Jail Aguada was booked for continuously calling his lone surviving victim threatening her not to marry anyone else. A search was launched but neither the mobile phone with the SIM was recovered nor any jail officials being questioned.
