Cop dies during farmer protest in Punjab

Chandigarh, Mar 6 : Farmers' protest over fuel price hike took the life of an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) in Tarn Taran in Punjab on Wednesday morning, said reports.

Agitated over the fuel price hike, a group of farmers stopped the vehicle of the slain cop to demonstrate in Jiobala village.

In an attempt to deal with the angry protestors, the ASI reportedly lost his life.

However, the farmers claimed that the Inspector died of a heart attack while trying to escape the protest.

There are also allegations that the protestors beat up the cop.
