Kolkata, Feb 26 : Fifty underprivileged children had a lovely time while taking a metro ride in Kolkata today.

The journey was like a picnic for the children.

Metro Railway with the help of an NGO (Kolkata CHILDLINE) took the initiative as 50 children had a ride on the Metro from Kavi Subhash to DumDum and back up to Esplanade along with their escorts. Most of these children have never travelled in any train.

They danced and sang songs during the 65 minutes of their journey. They all said this had been a life time experience for them.

Metro Railway provided all possible help for their safe and happy journey. The students enjoyed the journey and the representatives of the Kolkata CHILDLINE expressed their satisfaction with Metro Railway's arrangements.
