NBA: Lakers beat Celtics 113-99 to honour Jerry Buss
Los Angeles, Feb 21 : With their owner Jerry Buss passing away Monday, the Los Angeles Lakers posted an emotional win over the Boston Celtics in NBA league.
Buss was remembered before the game, and Kobe Bryant gave a speech.
"On Monday, we lost what we all know to be the greatest owner in sports, ever," Bryant was quoted as saying by Xinhua Wednesday.
"He was a brilliant, incredible owner, but he was even a better person with a great heart. His vision transcended the game, and we are all spoiled by his vision and by his drive to win year after year after year. "
The Lakers were behind for a while in the opening quarter, then they dominated the board, as well as the game, and led all the way to the end for a 113-99 result. The Lakers had 49 rebounds comparing the Celtics' 34.
Dwight Howard had 24 points and 12 rebounds while Bryant added 16 points. Steve Nash contributed 14 points and 7 assists, giving him 10,144 assists while passing Magic Johnson for sole possession of fourth place on the career list.
