Oscar arrives in court for bail hearing
Pretoria, Feb 20 : Paralympic athlete and Olympic medalist Oscar Pistorius of South Africa, who shot dead his girlfriend at his home in the Silverwoods Country Estate in Pretoria, arrived at a court here for the second day of his bail hearing on Wednesday.
South African prosecutors on Wednesday said a witness heard 'non-stop shouting' coming from the Olympic medalist's home before shots were fired on Feb 14, reports said.
Oscar, who is facing a charge of premeditated murder of his girlfriend, arrived at the court building in a police car. His head was covered with a blue blanket.
"On Tuesday Mr Pistorius told the court he shot her through a bathroom door after mistaking her for an intruder," BBC reported.
The paralympic athlete on the same day told the court during the bail hearing that he loved his girl friend and never intended to kill her.
According to reports, the Olympic medalist wept while his affidavit was read out in the court.
Last Thursday, Oscar shot dead his girlfriend at his home in the Silverwoods Country Estate in Pretoria after what he said he apparently thought she was a burglar. He was then arrested.
According to reports, Oscar's model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp died after he shot at her Thursday morning.
She was shot four times and bullets hit her head and chest, reports said.
Oscar Leonard Carl Pistorius is a sprint runner who has double below-knee amputations.
He competes in T44 (single below knee amputees) events though he is actually classified in T43 (double below knee amputee).
He is the T44 world record holder for the 200 and 400 metres events, and the joint T43 record holder for the 100 metres.
