RCU organise first convocation on Feb 16
Belgaum,Karnataka Feb 12 : City-based Rani Chennamma University (RCU)will be holding its inaugural convocation on February 16 at Viswerayya Technology University (VTU) Auditorium here.
RCU Vice-Chancellor Prof B R Ananthan told mediapersons here today that the varsity has been functioning for two years.
Governor and University Chancellor H R Bhardwaj will preside over the function and former Chief Justice of India M N Venkatachaliah will deliver convocation address,
He said RCU would be honouring 12 eminent personalities with honorary doctorates.
They are Justice Venkatachalaiah, Prof Ishar Judge Ahuliwalia, Prof S Bisalayya, Prabhakar Kore, late B M Patil, Shidharama Swamiji, Dr Kasturirangan, Prof M I Savadhathi,Prof G Venkatasubbiah, Mr Veeranna Mathikatti, Shidhanagouda Patil and Sarju Katkar.
The university will distribute gold medals and cash award to 20 rank holders in success various subjects.
