Haryana takes steps to increase trained manpower
Chandigarh, Feb 12 : With a view to increasing the trained manpower in Haryana so as to meet the target of 17 lakh trained persons during the years 2012-17, a number of steps have been initiated by the Department of Industrial Training.
Stating this here today, Haryana Industrial Training Minister Geeta Bhukkal said that under a plan to set up Multi Skill Development Centres (MSDCs), the process has been initiated to invite expression of interest for selection of consultant or implementation agency.
Identification of location for the establishment of these centres was also under consideration with the government.
He said that under Kaushal Vikas Yojna Scheme of the Central Government, the case for setting up of 11 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and 96 Skill Development Centres (SDCs) in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode in unserviced block had been submitted to the Central Government for consideration.
She said that to make the training relevant and accountable to users, 65 Government ITIs have been adopted by 29 Industries including the major industries like Maruti Suzuki (I) Ltd, Sona Koyo Steering system, Jindal Stainless Steel Ltd, Reliance (I) Ltd for upgradation through Public-Private Partnership.
