Supreme Court upholds death penalty for child killer
New Delhi, Feb 5 : The Supreme Court has upheld death penalty awarded to a man who had kidnapped and killed a seven-year-old boy in Tamil Nadu in 2007, media reports said on Tuesday.
A man named Sundar had kidnapped and killed the child. He was convicted by a local court first which awarded death penalty and then the same was upheld by the Madras High Court.
The man challenged it in Supreme Court on the ground that the crime is not one of the rarest of rare, but the apex court upheld earlier court verdicts.
