India growing increasingly intolerant: Shashi Tharoor
New Delhi, Feb 3 : Union minister of state for human resource development Shashi Tharoor has said the Indian culture was increasingly becoming one of competitive intolerance.
Speaking to CNN IBN, he said: "Each segment of of our society goes out of its way to say how offended they are with somebody else's cultural expression."
"And the result if we take into account how offended everybody is going to be a terrible narrowing of the cultural space, the space for expression, the space for imagination in our society and cultures don't grow without that," he added.
Tharoor himself has earlier been involved in a number of controversies because of various comments he had made.
