Bandhavgarh: Hotel manager confesses to rape
Bhopal, Feb 2 : The manager of a resort in Madhya Pradesh's Bandhavgarh tiger reserve has confessed that he raped a South Korean student holidaying there, media reports said Saturday.
The manager Deepak Vishwakarma told the police that he raped the 23-year-old student on Jan 14.
The woman, who filed the complaint after more than two weeks in Aurangabad, had alleged that her drink had been spiked following which she was raped by the man.
The manager, who worked at the resort owned by the son of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA, was arrested by the police on Friday night and subsequently admitted to the crime.
The incident comes in the wake of the gruesome gang-rape of a 23-year-old medical student on a bus in Delhi on a December night. The woman's ordeal and death triggered a nationwide outcry against crimes on women.
