Larry King lunged at me during our bad date, says Katie Couric
New York, Feb. 2 : American journalist Katie Couric has revealed that she once shared a bad date with Larry King, during which the TV host lunged at her.
On 'Jimmy Kimmel Live,' the 56-year-old author talked about the Italian dinner date she went on with King, 26 years ago in Washington, DC, the New York Post reported.
She said that the date started off with King picking her up in his Lincoln Town Car and driving her to an Italian restaurant.
She said that the restaurant employees put them right next to each other like they do with all the men and their 'nieces.'
After having a "nice enough time," the pair left the restaurant together.
Noticing that King wasn't driving towards her residence, she recalled saying, "'Larry, where are we going?' And he said, 'My place.'"
She said that she was only 30 at the time and could not figure out how to extricate herself from the situation.
Once inside his apartment, the veteran newscaster made his move towards Couric, which she quickly rebuffed.
Couric said that she started laughing as the whole situation looked as if it out of a bad Lifetime movie.
She told King that he was an interesting and a nice man but she would like to meet someone a little closer to her age, to which he replied, "That's okay cause when I like, I really like."
As per Couric, King has a totally different recollection of the evening.
