Oslo, Feb 2 : Pakistani schoolgirl-turned-anti-Taliban-icon Malala Yousufzai has been nominated for this year's Nobel Peace Prize, said reports.
On October 9 last year, a member of militant group Tehreek-e-Taliban shot at Malala, 15, for promoting girls' education, while she was travelling on a bus.
Today, she has become an international symbol for the fight for women's rights.
The award is expected to be announced in October and it will be handed over at a ceremony here on December 10.
Reports said the other nominees are jailed Belarusian human rights activist Ales Belyatski and Russian Lyudmila Alexeyeva.
