'Delighted' Balotelli says ran to grab opportunity to join 'boyhood' club AC Milan
London, Jan 31: Mario Balotelli has admitted he didn't think twice about quitting Manchester City to join his boyhood club, AC Milan, adding he always wanted to play for the Italian giants.
Balotelli will be officially unveiled as a Milan player on Thursday, following his 19.5 million pound move from City after two-and-a-half incident-packed years in England, the Daily Mirror reports.
The 22-year-old striker revealed he jumped at the chance to return to his native Italy once it became clear the club he grew up supporting wanted to sign him.
Balotelli said he wanted to play for AC Milan for such a long time, adding he played for other teams and couldn't come, but when there was the chance, he ran to grab the opportunity.
Balotelli added he didn't have a good start to the season with City and he hopes to do well here with Milan.
Balotelli underwent a medical in Italy on Wednesday, as Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani hailed his signing as a dream move for the club.
