Mumbai, Jan 31 : The Shiv Sena on Thursday asked the Bhratiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to decide its Prime Ministerial candidate for the 2014 Lok Sabha election in advance.
"We must decide on the PM candidate now," Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray said in an interview to party mouthpiece 'Saamna'.
He said late party supremo Bal Thackeray had earlier suggested the name of senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj for the post.
"If you have any other name then please bring it forward. We will discuss it. But do that soon. Do not behave in the way as you did during the Presidential poll," Uddhav Thackeray said.
The Shiv Sena is a key partner of the NDA.
The Shiv Sena last month had backed Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as NDA's Prime Ministerial candidate for 2014 general elections.
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut told media: "We have no problem if Modi is declared as the NDA's PM candidate."
