2 kids killed in Rajouri grenade blast, CM announces relief

Jammu, Jan 30 : Two school going children were killed in a mysterious grenade blast in Rajouri district while Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister announced relief to them, sources here said.

"Two children identified as Shazina Kouser, 9 and her brother Khurshid Mohammad, 11, children of Lal Hussain, residents of Dera Baron this afternoon died on the spot when a grenade, they were fiddling with exploded in their hands," police sources here told UNI.

They said the kids were returning from school when they noticed an object lying on the road.

"They started fiddling with the device, which suddenly exploded and both of them died on the spot," they added.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has announced relief of Rs one lakh each to both the children.

The Chief Minister has also announced one government job for the bereaved family and expressed grief over the sad demise of children while expressing his sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved family.
