Mining scam kingpin Bastawade remanded to 14 days judicial custody
Ranchi, Jan. 30 : A Ranchi Court on Wednesday remanded former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda's aide and mining scam kingpin Anil Bastawade to 14 days judicial custody.
He will be lodged in the Birsa Munda Jail.
Bastawade was brought back from Jakarta, Indonesia, late on Tuesday night where he was arrested on January 21 on the basis of an Interpol notice.
Bastawade, who was flown to Ranchi earlier in the day, is an accused in a money laundering scam.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has alleged that he siphoned off over 250 crore rupees from the Madhu Koda Government to pay for coal mine contracts.
The CBI issued a Red Corner Notice (RCN) against him on the request of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which is probing charges of alleged money laundering against the 48-year-old businessman.
